The year 2022 marks an important milestone for global forestry, making the XV World Forestry Congress a crucial event. With just ten years remaining to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and achieve its Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the goals and targets of the UN Strategic Plan for Forests, the progress made to date is commendable but insufficient, and we must step up our efforts and find new ways to achieve humanity’s most ambitious goals.
Frederic Staat, as Coordinator of the Woodrise Alliance, has been invited by the FAO to participate virtually in a special event at the WFC titled “The Contribution of the Forest Circular Bioeconomy to Sustainable Development.” A short video has been produced to introduce the members and initiatives of the Woodrise Alliance.
