In 2023, Switzerland holds the presidency of the European Union’s macro-regional strategy for the Alpine region (SUERA – EUSALP). The cantons and the Confederation hold the presidency jointly.

The Swiss presidency of EUSALP is inviting EUSALP members and stakeholders to the first international conference on the “Circular Economy” on March 30 and 31, 2023, in Fribourg.

The goal of the circular economy is to use raw materials efficiently and for as long as possible. This helps prevent raw material shortages and reduces pollutant emissions and waste. At the same time, it opens up opportunities for new and innovative value chains.

The EUSALP conference aims to showcase regional circular economy approaches in European Alpine regions. Drawing on scientific findings and concrete examples of projects from the agriculture, food industry, and construction sectors, the conference will examine the policy framework necessary for a successful circular economy in the future.

To keep products and materials in circulation, all stakeholders need to rethink their approaches. Join the discussion and attend the conference on the “Circular Economy” in Fribourg.
