International Conference Centre Geneva - Admission free | Alarm is given. Catastrophes multiply. The evidence of the origins too. The truth disturbs ! One talks, one talks. The risks are admitted, but the urgency is underestimated ! Are we going to crash in the wall ? What to believe ? What to do ? |
| The house is burning ! |

One wonders today about the durability of the economics based on fossil fuel. Geopolitics, rising consumer prices and thickening air pollution are fuelling these concerns. Climate disasters are causing death and misery all over the world. Katrina has raised awareness of the fact that industrialized nations live on the same planet and are at risk, too. But some still think that the situation will turn to the better naturally, others believe we are doomed. The influence of human activities on the reheating of the planet is established. The consequences will be dramatic if one gives up fast and draconian changes to lower CO2. However planned programs do not take account of the emergency. «The house is burning» but the firemen think slowly of the manner of extinguishing the fire. | |
