To be exemplary and at the height of their ambitions, Geneva and Switzerland must hurry up.

The FEDRE organizes for 10 years forums, whose goal is to allow, first local and regional decision makers, then all the actors of sustainable development, to attain prime quality informations and to converse to create effective synergies.
Regularly in Geneva but also abroad, these forums joined together hundreds of speakers and were followed by concrete actions concerning in particular energies, mobility, the management of waste, and water.
For the forum of January 2007, to develop our topic «Climate changes - time for action», we decided to lean on the orientation of the swiss energy policy, supported at the federal, cantonal, local level and by the polytechnic schools and the universities, and which tends to privilege energy saving and efficiency.
We clearly choose renewable energies, often underestimated, even ignored. Only the hydro-electricity plays already a primary part in Switzerland. It is necessary on the future to cease supporting old polluting or dangerous energies. It is time now to promote new technologies, to use more largely natural gas to ensure a certain transition, and especially to support energy saving and to improve energetic efficiency.
Geneva is institutionally an international capital of sustainable development and the Swiss Confederation supported so that it becomes it. Consequently, it belongs to us in Geneva and in Switzerland, to be exemplary, to support everywhere practices taking of account sustainable development, and also answering inside the country to the waitings of a vast majority of the population. It is in this direction that the FEDRE leads its actions in partnership with those who share such convictions to be protected from the dangers of the climate changes.

Planet Climate

The FEDRE thus promotes an awakening and solutions related to the climate changes in favour of sustainable development

Climate change is often natural, but the human activity indisputably accelerated it and made it much more alarming. Energy and mobility are at the origin of this evolution.
Taking as a starting point the scientific studies of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), of the work of the WMO (World Meteorological Organization), and of the didactic exhibition «Climax» presented at the City of Sciences and the Industry of Paris, our partner, we launched at the time of Forum FEDRE 2006 «Planet Climate», supported by various international and regional institutions.
The goal of this programe is to sensitize the greatest number of people, citizens (in particular young people) and local authorities and companies, to the causes and consequences of the climatic reheating, and to everyone's responsability related to it.
The concept «Planet Climate» was presented on Saturday May 20, 2006 in Geneva at the time of the world forum «Cities and quality of life: global challenges, local solutions».
It was on the program of the World Environment Day which was held in Algiers on June 5, 2006.

The spectacular evolution of the communication on this topic of the climatic reheating, in particular with the issue of the film of Al Gore «An Inconvenient Truth», leads the FEDRE to adapt its concept and to diversify its supports.

Shows are already programmed with the City of Geneva for the year 2007, and several townships are interested in it.

The 3^rd edition of «Place des Affaires», organized by the CDE (Cercle des Dirigeants d'Entreprises) will join together, from 22 to 26 January 2007, many exhibitors of the private, public and international economy, and more than 250 companies, in the International Conference Centre Geneva (CICG).

Goal : To support meetings and exchanges between the actors of regional socio-economic network.

When ? From Monday 22 to Friday January 26, 2007. Five days of visibility and professional contacts at the threshold of a new year !

Who ? The modules are reserved by the members CDE who can invite, in a privileged way, their partners, customers, prospective customers. Place des Affaires also greets general public (nearly 15000 participants in January 2006).

What ? In parallel of the exhibition, the activities, conferences, shows and other events, organized in particular by the companies, will not fail to interest the exhibitors like the visitors.

Why the FEDRE ? The FEDRE comes this year into the heart of «Place des Affaires» to sensitize, in particular with the SIG (Geneva Energies) et Novatlantis (polytechnic schools), companies and their consumers with the problem of the climate changes.
It wants to draw their attention to the economic potential represented by a policy of energy saving without giving up comfort.
At the same time the FEDRE leads within the CICG its forum «Climate changes - time for action».
