22-23 May 2012 in Kiev (Premier Palace Hotel) will take place the major business event in the sphere of sustainable business development - the 2nd International Forum of Clean Technologies in Ukraine ECOSMART-2012.
In continuation of the success of the ECOSMART-2011 forum, which Ukrainian Event Awards titled as the best international event in Ukraine for the previous year, ECOSMART-2012 gathers top management of environmentally responsible companies and organizations, as well as owners and managers of "green" business, to create a powerful impetus for sustainable economic development and stimulation the development of new niches in the leading industries of Ukraine, development of high-grade segment of clean technologies in Eastern Europe. The climate change, scarce, and at the same time, polluted water, buried among thousands of hectares of unfertile soil, decaying infrastructure and industrial plants and factories which impact the natural environment... How to turn global challenges into opportunities? How to get power, money and personnel for the tremendous change? Move in what direction will have the greatest efficiency? How to create a synergy of cooperative efforts by the authorities and business, aimed at strengthening environmental responsibility? How to achieve the economic effect of moving along the rails of sustainable development? How are businesses in the area of clean technology from the inside? How to attract investors and which funding program for your clean technology project to choose? About 50 international experts and senior executives of leading companies in the two-day forum program ECOSMART-2012 will present their opinions and answers to these and many other relevant issues.
The main distinguishing feature of the forum ECOSMART-2012 - the maximum practical orientation. Mission ECOSMART-2012 - become guidance for creation and development of successful projects in the segment of environmentally sound technologies and environmental responsibility. Forum implements it's information liabilities - in addition to traditional sessions related to the most important topics on public policy and programs, investments, the upcoming Rio +20, the extension of the Kyoto Protocol and present show of business-cases on environmental responsibility, "green" business, and projects in the field of clean technologies in the municipal sector. In addition, the forum is traditionally consist of two parallel sections (conferences) dedicated to recycling and waste management, as well as water and sanitation.
In 2011, during the ECOSMART in Eastern Europe for the first time was calculated carbon footprint of the Forum, and carried his subsequent offsetting (neutralization of carbon footprint) - through the planting of an orchard at the school in the central district of Kiev. Among the speakers and guests of the forum in 2011 are: former UN Secretary General on Climate Change Yvo de Boer, Chairman of the International Association of Solid Waste Jeff Cooper and other respected experts of international level.
